Last month we ran a “User survey on Digital Identity adoption and use (English).”, while this survey ended on August 4th, 2023, we share with you an overview on three (3) recent surveys conducted around the world.
Digital Identity Solutions Market
Conducted by Precedence Research , a Canada/India based company and one of the leading providers of strategic market insights. As per the market survey carried out from 2022-2023, there is an expected growth in the use of Digital Identity Services in the coming years. The market growth is expected to increase with the support of government’s regulating and supporting digital transformation.
From the key takeaways of the survey, The Asia Pacific region is expected to expand at the fastest Compound Annual Growth Rate in the digital identity market in the next 10 years. This is a good opportunity for small island developing states like Papua New Guinea to capitalize and start investing and collaborating to implement this technology.
Digital ID Survey
RUSI and ACAMS conducted a survey to emphasise on the importance of Digital Identity to eliminate financial crime. The survey and report was based on 304 responses, where many from the private sector viewed Digital ID as positive innovation.
User survey on Digital Identity adoption and use
YuTru conducted an online survey in July to get feedback from followers on their perception on the adoption and use of Digital Identity. The survey was targeted for people living in the urban areas of Papua New Guinea and has access to the internet. From our 100 followers on Social media only 17 responded. Most are employed and have fair knowledge on Digital Identity.
We can not draw many conclusions from this first phase of the survey but we could highlight that there is greater need for awareness in Digital Identity and its potential use to open up many digital market opportunities for both users and business.
